Objective

Programme details
  • NPCB: launched in the Year in 1976
  • Strengthened by World Bank project from 1994- to 2002
  • Aiming to reduce the prevalence of Blindness from 1.4% to 0.3%
  • As per 2006-07 survey by Govt. of India, Prevalence is 1% in India
  • Aim of NPCB- 1.1 to 0.3%
  • Present Prevalence Rate is :0.65%
  • Goal: prevalence of blindness to 0.3% by the year 2020
