NPHCE - National Programme for Healthcare of Elderly
Objective

The main objective of the programme is to cater to the elderly population wherein the health system gears itself to growing health needs of the elderly in an optimal and comprehensive manner

Strategy

  • To provide promotional, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services and to identify health problems in elderly
  • To build capacity of medical/paramedical and care-takers for healthcare of elderly and provide referral services for elderly patients

Program Details

The programme has been implemented over 8 districts of the state and will cover the whole state in the near future. Supportive aids and appliances for the elderly have been distributed to the districts.

The programme is under implementation across all the 13 districts of the state. 55 CHC NCD clinics have been opened across the state. Cardiac care equipment has been supplied to districts and 6 cardiac care units have been opreationalized
